godzilla animated: Varan

In Siberia, two butterflies are found that are supposedly native to Japan. This baffles scientists, and they send over a team to search for any more of them. The two scientists sent over where killed. Found crushed to death by something. Another team is dispatched to investigate. The people of a nearby village claim that their god, Varan. Then a young boy named ken runs into the woods to find his dog that ran away. The team goes after him, despite the village priest telling them that this will anger Varan. While trying to find him, the team finds something odd. A river no shown on any map...

From the river, Varan arises! The villagers flee, but they only manage to draw Varan to their homes! After tearing apart the village, and killing the priest, the scientists call the GDF. Immediately, they scramble to destroy this new monster, sending out tanks and jets. Of course, they have no effect on the monster (this is a Kaiju, remember?) While the military evacuates the city and surrounding countryside, Varan climbs to the top of the mountain and then uses the hidden flaps of skin beneath his arms to fly to Tokyo!

After destroying most of the city, Varan is again beset by the military. Their tanks and jets continue to fail to kill the beast, and Varan makes short work of them. Then the leader of the GDF suggests the use of bombs. As the jets fly overhead, the bombs continue to have no effect on the monster. But, as Varan swallows one that lands particularly close, the bomb detonates inside of his body. Killing the monster.

POWERS:
Varan has no beam weapon. At long range, there isn't much that he can do. But, with the membranes between his arms and tail, he can glide, sometimes for long periods of time. These membranes can be pulled into the body, so as not to get in the way, with a set of muscles in the tip that connect to the torso.

{Hey everyone, sorry for being late (again) I did a bit of a major redesign here. The biggest change being the skin membrane. I had it connected directly to the tail. Look ma! No flying squirrel!}
