Description

In the face of the Kiliaak invasion, the GDF began an arms race. In a global effort, they began building mechs, ships and weapons to fight the aliens with. Production power tripled after the battle at Chicago, when Victoria Davis destroyed a Kiliaak frigate. The alien technology was recovered, and adapted for human use. With it, the GDF was able to make more efficient and deadly mechs in a matter of months as opposed to the years it took to build RagnRok and Archangel. Now, the GDF was building an army. They were planning one final attack on the Kiliaak warship S’Krit-Na-Vahk.
Part of this army was Kiryu. Built with reverse engineered Kiliaak technology and modeled after Godzilla, the new mech was fully operational and ready for battle after only eight months. It was to be piloted by Yashiro Akane, a young woman from the GDF’s Japanese headquarters. She graduated at the top of the class, showing amazing technique in the neural integration simulations, almost on par with the Davis siblings. She quickly won the world’s heart. She was young, beautiful and piloted the most advanced mech made to date. Just as Joseph and Victoria Davis, Yashiro gave hope when the people of Earth needed it most.
On February the eighth, 2012, Kiryu was to be deployed to its first live combat situation against a class one kaiju. There had been reported sightings of Hedorah in the Middle East, and Kiryu was sent alongside RagnRok to investigate. Satellite imagery revealed Hedorah’s location. The beast lumbered towards a small city about ten miles to the south, leaving a trail of molten slag through the desert sand. Kiryu and RagnRok touched down just south of its position. Joseph called to Yashiro over the comms, “Get ready, Yashiro. It hasn’t seen us yet.” Kiryu’s motor whirred quietly as Yashiro’s heart beat faster. She was silent for a moment as she steeled herself. The covers snapped up from Kiryu’s shoulder mounted missile pods. “Let’s go,” she said, “before it gets to the city.”
Joseph had to smile to himself as Kiryu took off, and bounded after it over the desert. Joseph admired Yashiro’s bravery as she charged into battle with such a powerful mutant. and really pretty, too, Joseph thought to himself. He snapped out of it when Hedorah noticed them and gurgled threateningly. The creature roared and came towards them, heaving its viscous body closer to the mechs.
From the distance, both Kiryu and RagnRok opened fire. Missiles shot through the air as they blasted a full salvo into Hedorah. The creature staggered from the blasts, and the sludge of its body seemed to be thickening from the heat of the missiles. Still, Hedorah lumbered closer. A mass of small green bubbles formed, and a red laser sparked from it. Kiryu ducked as the laser arced over her head. Hedorah was close now, too close for missiles.
Yashiro shook Kiryu’s left hand and ignited the laser sword housed there. With a roar, she charged the gelatinous monster and cleaved the beast’s body in half. The place Yashiro cut hardened from the heat of the blade and crumbled to the ground. Hedorah was unfazed, and dropped to the ground like a puddle. The creature’s sludge oozed up Kiryu’s leg and took hold. No matter how hard she pulled, she couldn’t break the monster’s grip. RagnRok charged his claws and slashed at the goo, but nothing happened. Hedorah continued its slow climb up Kiryu’s leg. Yashiro screamed as the ooze began melting Kiryu’s armor. She was completely immobile, helpless. She swung blindly at the creature as it engulfed Kiryu, hitting its eye through sheer luck. Hedorah squealed but kept climbing up Kiryu’s body. Then, in desperation she grabbed the heavy weapons key and twisted it. The armor on Kiryu’s chest opened, and Yashiro fired the absolute zero laser. Hedorah squealed as its body froze solid. With a jerk, Yashiro shattered the goop that held her, and jumped away.
Yashiro panted as she brushed the gunk off of Kiryu’s smoking armor. RagnRok came to examine the remnants. There was something glowing among the frozen chunks. As Joseph came closer, it began to pulse with a sickly yellow light. Yashiro said through the comms “What is that thing? It looks like some kind of core.” She yelped to herself as it rose off the ground. The frozen chunks of Hedorah’s body floated through the air and spun around the glowing core. RagnRok and Kiryu backed away. “What the hell is this thing?” said Joseph. The pieces stopped orbiting the light, and began to vibrate. Steam came off of them as they melted. “Joe, get back!” Yashiro pulled RagnRok away from the heart just as the last chunks melted and the reformed Hedorah lunged to where RagnRok just was. Hedorah crashed against the ground like a wave and then formed itself again. Yashiro jumped forward and blasted it point blank with her mouth cannon. As the sludge blasted back, the core stayed in place. Before the sludge could hit the ground, it shot back up and surrounded the core.
Joseph gasped, and said “My god, that thing is the heart! Yashiro, we have to destroy it, or else it’ll just keep regenerating.” Yashiro nodded, and sliced three times, scattering the slime again. The heart was visible for a brief second, but Hedorah reformed too fast for the two to reach it. RagnRok leapt closer to the creature, and attacked it, carving it to pieces with his tail. Finally, he blasted the thing with a full power electric shock, which seemed to have stunned it for a bit. Then, Hedorah’s arm shot out, knocking RagnRok to the ground. It gurgled for a moment, and then turned to Kiryu.
Yashiro gritted her steel teeth and fired another salvo of missiles into Hedorah’s center mass. Huge holes opened in Hedorah’s chest as the missiles struck. While Hedorah put itself back together, Yashiro drew closer and slammed Hedorah with her tail. The creature’s slime flew everywhere, and the top half of its body was gone. From behind, RagnRok blasted again with his laser. The remaining sludge burst out, coating the desert sand.
“Now! Freeze it, Yashiro!” Joseph yelled
Yashiro opened her chest armor and fired the absolute zero cannon. The sludge froze, and the pulsing heart was defenseless. Before anything could happen, RagnRok lunged forward and caught the floating core in his teeth. Before he crushed it, Joseph felt the strangest sensation. It was the same pure energy that he felt when he was saved by the Shobijinn, and when he first saw Armageddon. This thing is made of Mana! Joseph looked to the sludge on the ground, and saw it already starting to move back towards the heart. Joseph bit down on the heart. There was a horrible screech as Hedorah died. The mana rushed out of the heart with a pure golden light as it dissipated back into the earth.
It was done. Mission accomplished.
As they began the trek back to base, Joseph activated his comm system, opening up a window into Yashiro’s cockpit. “So, not bad for your first class one, Miss Akane, we’re certainly better off with that thing gone.”
Yashiro was silent for a minute. Joseph lowered his voice, “Hey, what’s wrong?”
Finally, Yashiro spoke, quietly she whispered, “I was… terrified. It’s stupid, right? Here I am in the most advanced weapon in the GDF arsenal, but I panicked like a rookie when that thing got ahold me.”
Joseph was quiet. He remembered the first time he jacked into RagnRok. He remembered when Gigantis rose from the ground at area 51. Despite the power of the gods in his hands, he was helpless when faced with the kaiju. This is exactly what she’s feeling now Joseph thought. Yashiro Akane had felt the same way just now.
“It’s okay now, Yashiro. I felt the exact same way when I first fought in this mech, you know. I’m sure you know about what happened at Area 51. Never in my life had I been so scared as that moment when Gigantis lifted me off the ground, while I was in a 25,000 ton machine to boot! I know how you feel, and frankly, it’s not stupid at all.”
Yashiro’s lips slightly turned up, “Thanks for the pep talk Joe, nice to know I’m not the only one who panics and almost ruins a multi-billion dollar super weapon on the first mission.”
Joseph sniffed with indignation, “Excuse me, I was a volcanologist who was kidnapped by the government and on the run from giant alien soldiers. If I remember correctly Ms. Akane you trained for months to pilot Kiryu.”
She scoffed and waved her hand, “Details details, it’s not like you had ineffective backup that couldn’t get a giant phlegm ball off your leg.”
They both laughed, and Joseph was glad to see her smiling again. “Welcome to the big leagues Ms. Akane. Happy to have you on the team.”

NAME: Kiryu, or Mechagodzilla
HEIGHT: 80 meters
WEIGHT: 40,000 tons
FACTION: GDF

POWERS: Kiryu is the most advanced mech made by the GDF to date. Its core is reverse engineered from Kiliaak technology, giving it an incredible amount of energy to use. From its mouth, it fires a maser beam for long range combat. The weapon on its right arm has been dubbed "the gatling maser" firing a fast barrage of maser beams. On its shoulders are missile batteries that shoot "laser bombs" like RagnRok's. In its left hand is an energy sword similar to Archangels. Its most devastating weapon, however, is the absolute zero cannon. This weapon can freeze something down to 0 degrees kelvin in a matter of seconds, often reducing its target to icy dust.

[I have decided that I need more mutants and GDF kaiju, so here's my favorite mech, Kiryu! this guy has always been a favorite of mine since i first saw his movie. It was also a good opportunity to introduce a new character. Yashiro Akane, the newest GDF pilot, is ready for anything! up next, we have another GDF kaiju, so I hope you like mechs!]

We're finally rid of Hedorah, and it appears a new relationship may be in the works. I can only imagine how this all goes. (I'm being sarcastic, sort of, as i know how things go now.:()
